If your going to have a web site you most likely want to drive traffic to that site whether it is a commercial or private information site.

Writing articles related to your site can be a time consuming task and keep your focus on specific content can be a daunting tas but by following a few simple concepts and using a few tools to gather article content you can have great articles in no time.

Let’s examine some basics of what an article needs.

1. Keywords and Keyword Phrases: An article must always be centered on the keywords and keyword phrases. There are those who are just out looking around but most are actually looking for a specific something. A searcher usually goes to a search engine and types in the keywords they are looking for (e.g. dog training, weddings, pizza delivery and writing) anything they want. The Important thing is that you have article content that has the keywords that are related to your site.

2. Good Article Content: You can’t just put your keywords all over your article. There must also great reading material, you must entertain people as well as provide good information and help for their needs. If you want people to trust you, make your work good and well thought out (not some repurposed content you bought).   People respond well to figures, facts and statistics. Make sure you have relevant information and as many facts as you can. Great article content will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic.
Readers will begin to trust you and your products.

3. Linking Articles: Make sure your article content is connected. If you are going to submit articles to ezines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters, never forget to include a link to your site. Your ultimate goal is to drive readers to your website and if they don’t know how to get there…

What about ideas for article content?

If you’ve written articles online for any amount of time, you’ve probably went through all of your ideas more than once. With one set of keywords there’s only are so many different things that you can write about.  At times, you might find yourself stuck, needing to find ways to go about generating ideas and ways to gather new article content.

There are many tools which promise to automatically generate or rewrite article content for you. On one side it is probably true but let’s take a deeper look. Yes, they rewrite your article, it may be unique but, in some cases they are totally human unreadable. You have to ask if this is the kind of article content you want to use to attract visitors of your site?

There’s nothing wrong with reading other people’s work and using that content to generate your own ideas for great content. (especially if they have already have a popular topic!) Read other articles.  Just because you’ve run out of ideas doesn’t mean that everyone else has.  Read some other articles in your area of interest.  Don’t directly copy those articles use the ides to find your own take and your own voice on the topic.

What about using that search engine to get ideas?

1. This is a tip to narrow your focus to your specific keywords and bring back content from specific article sites.

Bring up Google and type in the following:

site:ezineaticles.com + YOURKEYWORDS

Now you can replace the YOURKEYWORDS with any of your keywords or keyword phrases and you can also replace the article site with any other popular article site you wish to search. (Remember to include the plus sign.)

This will bring you back articles from that site with your keyword in them. Now instead of sifting through a bunch of adversitsement sites and other non-relevant sites you’ll have pages of different articles to browse and use to create your own article content ideas.

2. This tip is to designed to get you more specific results from the above search.

By putting quotes around your keywords you will narrow down the results to an exact match for your phrase.

site:ezineaticles.com  + “YOURKEYWORDS”

3. This last tip can give you even more specific results but, is also a great for ideas about article titles.

Placing the words allintitle: in front of your keywords tells the search engine to only look in the titles of the articles that have been returned for your keyword phrase.

site:ezineaticles.com + allintitle:YOURKEYWORDS

This is a great way to get ideas for that next catchy title or even that topic for your next blog post!

Using article marketing to promote your business is extremely smart if you do it right. The key is choosing hot article topics related to your niche. Content creation should be to the point, unique and should use your relevant keywords.
